Ink Tapa

Ink Tapa

This week we have been doing Ink Tapa in T3. Tapa  is a a piece of art work  made in countries like Papua New Guinea  and Fiji.  We use ink and copied a diagram of what it looked like.
Next we have to put some tea onto it to stain it.

  1. Hi Royden! Caitlyn here from T3. Wow, your Tapa Design looks AMAZING! I think you have done a excellent job on Tapa Design. Did you find it tricky to do? Whats your favourite Tapa Design? Maybe next time you could tell us if it was hard or easy, and what you really liked about it. Good Job Royden, Keep the great work up! (:

    1. Hi Caitlyn,
It was pretty tricky using the paint brushes without getting it all everywhere. The stripes was my favourite.

  2. Hey Royden! It's just Kyra here from Totara 3! I love your designs for your calendar art because they are super creative! Where did you find them?

I really enjoyed doing calendar art this year because it was something I had never done before. Have you ever done Tapa before?

How did you feel about using the Indian ink? Did you find it tricky to use with out making a mistake?

I can't wait to see more of your awesome art!

    From Kyra!

    1. Hi Kyra,
I found my tapa designs on line. I have never done tapa before so it was quite hard work. Using Indian ink was ok but we had to be careful not to get it on your skin. I found it a bit tricky without going over the lines or else it would go everywhere.

  3. Hi Royden,
My name is Aaliyah and I am a year 7 student currently attending St Pius X Catholic School. I really liked your Ink Tapa, I thought it was beautiful and very creative. I think you should add what you learnt.

I can’t want to see it with tea!
    Good Job.

  4. Hi Aaliyah,
I learnt that you should never have ink go everywhere!
    Thanks for your comment.
    Royden.
