Face and Place Value

Place Value: Place value is
what the number is worth.
In this example:
67,654- the place value of the
7 is 7,000  (seven thousand),
because it’s in the thousands
column.
In this example:

215,678-the place value of the
5 is 5,000 (five thousand),
because the 5 is in the
thousands column.
